15 Years of Jazz Rooms!!
The infamous Ship Street basement celebrated its 15th Anniversary with a big time
celebration in July 2005. During this time, Russ Dewbury has played host every
Friday and Saturday to a veritable who's who of contemporary jazz, funk, latin and
soul DJs.

Over the years, just about everybody in the scene has manned the decks.
Luminaries include Gilles Peterson, Baz Fe Jazz, Paul Murphy and guests from all
over the world such as Rainer Truby, Kyoto Jazz Massif, Espen Horne and a cast of
thousands. Legendary US keyboardist Weldon Irvine was moved upon a rare visit
to describe the Rooms as "...an international brotherhood."

The Jazz Rooms owes its continuing success to the hip attitude and relaxed vibe
of its regular customers - long may it continue...
